These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Leora platform ("Leora", "we", "us", "our").

By creating an account or using Leora, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.

1. Eligibility

1.1 You must be at least 18 years old to use Leora.

1.2 You must provide accurate, complete, and truthful information at all times.

1.3 You may not use Leora if you have previously been banned or removed for safety or integrity reasons.

2. Account Registration

2.1 You must register using a valid email address.

2.2 You may create only one account.

2.3 You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

2.4 You must not impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.

3. Identity Verification & Eligibility

3.1 Mandatory Verification

All users must complete identity verification before accessing Leora.

This is required to:

• Protect user safety
• Prevent impersonation and fraud
• Uphold platform standards

Verification requires a photo of your driving licence and a selfie, both reviewed by trained members of our team. The selfie becomes your profile photo. How these are handled, including deletion of your licence once verification is decided, is set out in our Privacy Policy.

When you submit your licence and selfie, we record the version of these Terms and of the Privacy Policy shown to you, together with the date and time of your agreement.

3.2 Safety-First Principle

Leora uses lawful identity verification and risk screening processes, including limited review of relevant publicly available information, to help protect users and maintain platform integrity.

3.3 Social Media (Optional)

If you choose to link a social media profile:

• We may temporarily view information you have chosen to make available
• We do not store or retain copies of social media content
• We do not access private accounts without your explicit action
• Social data is not used for automated decision-making or profiling
• You may revoke access at any time

3.4 Eligibility Decisions

Leora may refuse or revoke access where necessary to protect users, including where:

• A user has engaged in harmful, abusive, or fraudulent behaviour
• A user poses a safety or integrity risk

We may not provide detailed reasons for such decisions due to safety and privacy considerations.

We retain minimal data where necessary to prevent re-registration and protect the platform.

3.5 Accuracy

Providing false or misleading information will result in account removal.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Harass, abuse, threaten, stalk, or harm others
• Send sexual or explicit content during early interactions
• Use Leora for commercial or promotional purposes
• Create fake, misleading, or deceptive profiles
• Attempt to bypass verification or bans

Leora may remove content or restrict accounts at its discretion to enforce these Terms.

5. Serendipity

5.1 Serendipity is an opt-in feature of the Leora app that introduces you to verified members who are nearby and who align with your stated preferences and intentions. It is off by default, and you can switch it on or off at any time.

5.2 When Serendipity is on, we process your device's precise location, including while the app is in the background, to enable proximity-based introductions. Other members see your approximate proximity, never your exact location. Location handling is set out in our Privacy Policy.

5.3 You are under no obligation to accept any introduction, and you may accept or decline without explanation. Where someone declines or withdraws, you must stop contact immediately.

5.4 Section 4 (Acceptable Use) applies in full to Serendipity interactions, in the app and in person.

5.5 Any in-person meeting is undertaken at your own discretion and risk. Take reasonable precautions, including meeting in public places. Leora facilitates introductions only; we do not supervise or control in-person meetings, and we do not guarantee the identity, intentions, or behaviour of any user beyond the checks described in these Terms.

5.6 Availability of introductions is not guaranteed, and we may modify, suspend, or withdraw the feature at any time.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

6.1 Leora offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the end of the current billing period.

6.2 App Store Billing

Where purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store:

• Payment will be charged to your app store account
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your app store account settings
• You may restore previously purchased subscriptions through your app store account

6.3 Refunds

Refunds are handled in accordance with the policies of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store where applicable. You must request refunds directly through the relevant platform provider.

7. User Content

7.1 You may upload profile content in accordance with your subscription tier.

7.2 You retain ownership of your content but grant Leora a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it within the platform.

7.3 You must not upload content that is illegal, offensive, explicit, or infringes the rights of others.

7.4 Moderation

Leora uses a combination of automated systems and human moderation to detect and review content and behaviour.

We may remove content or restrict accounts, with or without notice, to protect users and enforce these Terms.

8. Safety, Reporting & Enforcement

8.1 Users can report inappropriate behaviour directly within the platform.

8.2 Users can block other users at any time.

8.3 Leora may investigate reports and take action including warnings, suspension, or permanent removal.

8.4 Where there is a credible risk of harm, Leora may notify relevant authorities.

9. Data Protection & Privacy

9.1 Personal data is processed in accordance with the Leora Privacy Policy.

9.2 Leora does not sell personal data.

9.3 We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures.

9.4 When you delete your account, personal data is deleted except where limited retention is required for legal or safety purposes.

10. Account Deletion & Subscriptions

10.1 You may delete your account at any time.

10.2 Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. To avoid further charges, you must cancel your subscription through your app store account settings.

10.3 No refunds are provided for unused subscription periods, except where required by law or app store policies.

10.4 Leora may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a safety risk.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Where changes are material, we will provide notice in advance.

Continued use of Leora constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Limitation of Liability

Leora is provided "as is".

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Leora is not responsible for:

• The conduct of any user
• The outcome of matches or interactions
• Offline interactions between users
• Technical interruptions or service availability

You acknowledge that interactions with other users are at your own risk and agree to take reasonable precautions when communicating or meeting in person.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where unlawful to do so.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by:

• England and Wales (UK users)
• The State of New York (US users)
• Local laws of EU users (with mandatory protections preserved)

14. Dispute Resolution

We encourage users to contact us first to resolve disputes.

Nothing in these Terms limits your legal rights or access to courts.

15. Assignment

Leora may transfer these Terms in connection with a merger, sale, or restructuring.

Users may not transfer their rights without consent.

16. Severability

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain valid.
